Outlast Not Coming To Wii U… For Now Gamer

a minute read

Red Barrels’ has made some massive waves in the gaming industry for being an unforgiving survival title that really puts the horror back into horror-survival. The game has already launched on PC and has made its way to PS4 and Xbox One. However, a lot of gamers were curious if would make the jump to Nintendo’s Wii U?

B-Ten managed to reach out to Red Barrels about their first-person horror title and here’s what they were told by the studio…

Well that’s all kinds of fail… for now.

Some gamers wondered if the hardcore content of might be the cause for the game’s absence on the Wii U, but let’s not forget that Nintendo’s systems have been home to some fairly raunchy games, such as and . I don’t see why a polygonal penis would instantly put Red Barrel smack dab at a concept approval stop sign. Nintendo’s systems have always been a magnet for a menagerie of out-there games.

Of course, Nintendo is also notorious for quality control on their systems; they really do expect companies to release working games on their platforms, usually the first time out and the first time around.

The PS4 and Xbox One have become equally notorious for getting games that arrive, or ship, or release broken right out of the freaking box *cough*Battlefield 4*cough*. It’s something the Big ‘N’ doesn’t tolerate like Fox doesn’t tolerate poor ratings on a show barely out of its pilot episode.

Nevertheless, Red Barrels doesn’t rule out a release on the Wii U altogether, but it’s very unlikely we’ll see the game arrive so late into the game, especially after it’s already made waves on three other platforms.
