Deer God Stretch Goal Includes Wii U Release Gamer

2 minutes read

This has to be one of the most unique, strangest and cool games to come along in a long time. Nevertheless, if the game manages to do well enough on Kickstarter it’ll actually appear on the Wii U.

Nintendo Enthusiast spotted the stretch goal for Crescent Moon Games’ upcoming title called the over on their official Kickstarter page.

The Wii U goal sits at the $85,000 mark. That’s quite a ways from the initial $26,000 goal. However, isn’t your ordinary run-of-the-mill game; it was inspired by nature and the great outdoors, as well as many classics that helped shape generations passed.

The game itself is a semi-side scrolling, platforming role-playing game. You mate with female deer to create offspring that work as your checkpoints (groovy, I know) and you can unlock power-ups and special abilities while fending yourself off from angry wolves and human hunters. Scope out some of the righteous gameplay in the Kickstarter video below.

The game looks absolutely gorgeous and the pixel work is phenomenal. What’s more is that the game’s music, composed by Evan Gipson – and he does a fan-darn-tastic job with the electro-ambient pieces and capturing the atmosphere of the game – fits in perfectly with the game’s nature-themed progression.

Oh yeah, and did I mention sports real-time day and night cycles, combat and puzzles? Well it does.

If you enjoyed wiping tears away from your eyes while playing emotional string-jerking games like or watching films like Brother Bear or An American Tail (admit it, you cried on that one, too) then you’ll probably feel right at home with .

This tale could be one of the sleeper-hit variety when it launches later this year. If you want to see the game become a reality, feel free to contribute to the Kickstarter goal over on the official Kickstarter page.
