The popular Kickstarter darling from Keiji Inafune and the Comcept USA team is getting its very own animated television series. That’s right, the will become a serialized animated series in 2016. In addition to that, the game will also head into Steam’s Early Access sometime before 2015.
So first up, Nintendo Everything notes that the news about the animated series came hot and heavy during the 2014 Anime Expo, where it was revealed that Digital Frontier, a renown studio behind other notable game series such as and other titles, has been contracted to work on the series.
But the real juicy bit is that ‘s Early Access will begin sometime before 2015. Two users in attendance managed to sit in on the panel for Comcept’s upcoming game, where Inafune revealed that they have plans to get the game onto Steam’s platform before the year is out, with The-O Network and Maverick-jin8 tweeting out the following messages.

Nice.
I’m pretty excited for this game, as it managed to come close to the $4 million mark in crowd-funding and will reinvigorate the action-platform genre, no doubt. There’s also rumblings that the game may re-enter another crowd-funding phase for additional features and support, such as English voice-overs. To be honest, I would probably keep with the Japanese voice-overs… they usually tend to do a better job than their Yank-employed counterparts.
As the animated series? Well, it will be CG and it will be an action-comedy series aimed at kids between 6 and 11. According the Nintendo Everything article, we can expect to see the series become available starting the second quarter of 2016. You can check out a teaser clip of it below.
As for the game, you can keep an eye out on the official website for more updates and news regarding Mega Man’s eventual replacement.
