Dreamatrix is prepping soon to release Wave of Darkness, taking the game to the next level by moving it out of Early Access and into a full release starting November 5th.
The game has been receiving generally positive reviews on Steam at the moment as it’s been moving through the Early Access phase. The developers have been iterating and fixing up various aspects of the title throughout its time in the pre-release state and the community has been offering a lot of feedback in helping them achieve the vision they set out to complete when they first started the crowd-funding campaign.
The end product will feature a non-linear, open-world game with plenty of quests, 70 hours of gameplay and a spell generator along with a crafting mechanic to help flesh out the replay. You can check out the game’s intro with the video below.
Beyond the intro, there’s also some gameplay footage to help give you an idea of what the gameplay is like and how players are able to interact in the game world. You can see it in action below.
In preparation for the game’s release the developers also unleashed the game’s soundtrack via Soundcloud. You can put your ears to work and listen to what the game’s OST is like via the embed below.
It’s like an overloaded media barrage of content.
Anyway, the main point of the press release was just to inform gamers that Wave of Darkness hopes to be another crowd-funding success story and that they will have overcome Kickstarter, Steam Greenlight and Early Access.
You can look for the game to be made available on Steam, in full, starting November 5th. On the Early Access page they mention that the game is discounted at the moment at 30% off its intended price. It’s available right now in Early Access for $21.99. However that would mean the game would sell for over $70 at launch? Maybe they’re referencing a regional price. Anyway, you can check the Steam store for more info or visit the official website.
