Electronic Arts and DICE are getting ready for the release of Star Wars: Battlefront on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Before the game drops there’s a new teaser trailer that EA and DICE wanted gamers to take a look at, featuring a glimpse at the Battle of Jakku free DLC map.
Entertainment Buddha caught wind of the new teaser trailer that you can check out below. It features just barely 40 seconds of in-engine action, with the clip ending on a giant imperial star destroyer readying to take a dive into the war-torn desert. Check it out below.
The the clip is short and fairly contained. It attempts to give gamers a brief idea of what the fight might be like. We see an AT-AT walker in the distance, so we at least know the stage is going to be large enough where the walkers will be required to balance out the fight. We see star-fighters flying overhead as they help to take out the star destroyer.
I’m a little curious as to whether the battle will encompass the star destroyer falling and crashing or will players have some role in that or will it just be an in-game cinematic? I get the feeling that the game will pull a Battlefield 3 and it will be an in-game cinematic of sorts partway through the fight.
No actual gameplay was made available for the map but the teaser trailer ends letting gamers know that the map will be available for free to everyone on December 8th. If you pre-order you can gain access to the map a whole week earlier than everyone else. Sounds like a joke, eh?
Anyway, I was not thrilled with the Star Wars: Battlefront beta and neither was the rest of the staff at One Angry Gamer. But hey, if the game looks fun to you be prepared for it to launch on November 17th for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Need more info? Hit up the official website.
