Pier Solar HD Delayed For Wii U, PS4 Due To Microsoft Certification Gamer

One of the most unique and original role-playing games due out for release on multiple platforms and PC has hit a slight delay… well, it’s more like a major delay, but only because of Microsoft.

Joystiq picked up an article from SEGA Nerds where they’re reporting that developer WaterMelon Co., has run into a problem with Microsoft’s certification process, as outlined on the Magical Game Factory blog.

Ruby Woo wrote that…

It was further noted that the issue of “certification” wouldn’t be too much of a hindrance, and that the studio would likely get back on track soon enough. Funnily enough, Sony waived concept approval and patching fees last year after they acquired a number of indies who felt as if paying to patch games and going through the grueling concept certification phase was a real drag.

As for Pier Solar… the game itself is a real gem, and I mean that in every way that measures up to being a compliment as possible. In fact, I first came across the game due to a Gamezone article praising the living digits out of the game for being such an amazing, nostalgic throwback to a bygone era.

The game plays out very similar to timeless classics like and .

Developer WaterMelon Co., recently went to Kickstarter in order to fund a full, HD makeover for the game that would then be released on the PS4, Xbox One and Wii U. They managed to accrue $231,000 even though the goal was only $139,000.

Once the team gets the certification ironed out at the behest of Microsoft, we can expect to see this undeniably awesome classic-in-the-making mosey its way onto a home console or desktop PC near you.

You can check out the trailer for the game below or pay a kind visit to the official website to learn more.
