Well it’s gone and happened; Nintendo has used their marketing prowess to hit the target demographic they need to hit in order to keep up and maintain the sort of success that they saw back at the end of May and the early parts of June. The Big ‘N’ has taken Mario to McDonald’s.

A new commercial has gone live featuring a happy-go-lucky crew of gamers playing while they enjoy their Happy Meals. You can check out the video below courtesy of YouTube user DaapsTV.

That’s pretty nifty right there for capturing some of the attention of gamers and kids looking to take the experience of outside of the game and into the palms of their hands, with a miniature toy.

The news itself was brought about when a Reddit user called You-Are-Incorrect posted a thread about the promotion and managed to snap a photo of the toy and Happy Meal box before uploading it to imgur for everyone to see.

You can grab the special Happy Meal items from participating McDonald’s chains or you can pay for the toys separately for $1.98 each.

is currently available exclusively for the Wii U and it’s rocking, shaking and busting down the doorway of success for the Big ‘N’ on the sales charts. Now they just have to hope they can keep it up until September.
