New Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice Dev Diary Focuses on Sounds and Hearing Voices

a few seconds read

There are a lot of games that depend on their sound design to portray the atmosphere they’re going for. In the upcoming game Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice players will have to deal with hearing voices in the main character’s head alongside her. Developers Ninja Theory released an update video going into depth on just how they went about making the sound as accurate as possible. They went so far as to research auditory verbal hallucinations with specialists in order to best portray what it would really be like to hear voices. Voices will both torment and aid the character Senua throughout the game, making audio be a key importance for the player throughout their journey.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is currently set to release on PS4 and Steam before the end of the year. You can grab a pair of headphones and listen closely in the full update video below.
