Fans of both Pokemon and Pokken Tournament will be treated to a new character and boss fight. The powerful Mewtwo received a new look and name, which comes in the form of Dark Mewtwo. It looks as hard as you’d expect it to be.
Mewtwo was perhaps one of the most recognizable Pokemon from the original series, and maybe to this day. And though the baby version of Mewtwo didn’t make it into the latest tournament style fighting game Pokken Tournament, Dark Mewtwo found its place in the game’s roster.
This means both Nintendo and Bandai Namco updated the game, adding Dark Mewtwo as a special character and as a boss in a special mode called Extra Battle. The most noteworthy thing about the darker version of Mewtwo is its strength. Within a few hits the battle was almost over, revealing the power of this new addition of Mewtwo.
Sporting a strange crystal like object embedded in its shoulder, the standard version of the new fighter also wields a Mega form that creates more crystals. In the video that contains a fight between Gangar and Mewtwo, we see that it can wreak havoc on those that aren’t aware of its deadly strikes and quick retaliation, making it a formidable opponent.
However, there was something that I didn’t like and that was Gangar’s spamming in the beginning, but after that the video moves on and shows us how the fights in Pokken can transform and turn deadly with both fighters in their Mega form.
You can check the latest video that TrackerTDGaming posted up showing Dark Mewtwo in action against Gangar, which runs for three minutes and a few seconds.
Many Smash Bro. fans already know that MewTwo appeared as DLC in the game and sports two different Mega forms in different games, but this also raises the question, will this Dark version show up in other variants of games? If it does that would be pretty interesting.
For those that are interested in Pokken, Dark Mewtwo will be added when Pokken Tournament comes out sometime during Spring in 2016, which will be exclusive for the Wii U.
